Can I use an English PSP in America?

in5ane.com > FAQs > PlayStation Portable FAQ > The Console

The PSP is multiregion when it comes to games and charging the console. Any PSP will play a PSP game from any other country, as long you have the correct firmware (e.g. some new games require you to have the latest firmware).

You can also charge your PSP anywhere in the world without having to worry about the differences in electricity supply- the box between the the PSP and the plug will sort that out for you. All you need to do is get a travel adaptor to fit the wall socket.

UMD movies on the other hand are region coded, and discs bought from different countries will most likely not work on your PSP.
